Coco, a 3-year-old cat, escaped from its home in Terra Nova and Labrador, Canada, on Monday and ran up a pole, where it stayed for two hours, meowing until help from the utility company finally arrived.

Coco is not a street cat, and Reid believes a dog may have chased it up there since it had never climbed a pole before, she said.
A video posted by Reid on Facebook shows a utility company employee in a helmet and uniform climbing the pole towards the orange cat.
“Coco, he’s going to help you, my love,” Reid can be heard saying to the cat as the rescue approaches.
But the cat did not want to accept the help, instead, it opted to jump to the ground at the last second.
“Oh my God!” someone is heard shouting in the video, which has been viewed more than 200,000 times.
Coco ran off after falling to the ground, and Reid initially thought it was injured, but it seemed unfazed after the ordeal.
“He climbed up the stairs and went inside,” said Reid. “Then he lay down on the floor and started grooming himself as if nothing had happened.”
